Tupperware, Plastics and our Health

What we store our food, drinks and skin care products in matters. Certain types of plastics can melt into the ingredients when in higher temperatures, and we end up absorbing plastics into our body when we eat, drink or apply the skin care product from the containers.
There are 7 types of plastics codes stamped or printed towards the bottom of plastic containers. These codes are numbers printed inside a triangle at or near the bottom of the container.

Below are the number codes to avoid:
#1 – PET or PETE (Polyethylene Terephthalate)
#3 – V or PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
#6 – PS (Polystyrene)
#7 – Other (BPA, Polycarbonate and LEXAN)
Better options are the containers with the following number codes:
#2 – HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
#4 – LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene)
#5 – PP (Polypropylene)
